Scott was based in Iraq for three years working for Partners Relief and Development. Scott worked in the Kurdistan region and also in Federal Iraq, supporting many communities spread all over the country that have been effected by war and oppression.

Scott was able to have access into the everyday life of Refugees, IDPs and Yazidis all over Iraq. Whether they were living in camps, informal settlements or in their original home, Scott wanted to show the true realities of what it is like for families to be living in a war torn country. Thirty three wars and conflict disputes spanning from 1914 (WW1) to the present day (Iraqi Insurgency) fighting against ISIS. Generations of Iraqi’s and Kurds have experienced war, but hope for a better life is carried strong. Families who have not chosen to flee and attempt the treacherous journey into Europe try to move if possible, to safer areas around the country. They have to be careful with where they choose to live depending on their political views, religion and family background. Many groups stick together as it is safer to be in numbers than to be alone.
